Annual Programs and Activities
The Clinton church has a yearly schedule of programs and activities that are designed to provide opportunities for spiritual growth, fellowship, recreation, and service. Silver Saints This active group of seniors coordinates many activities throughout the year. The Silver Saints host holiday get-togethers, picnics, and congregational outings to Pigeon Forge and other local attractions. Each Silver Saint also becomes an adopted "grandparent" to one of the children of the congregation. Youth Ministry The Clinton church is blessed with a fantastic group of kids, from cradle roll to college. Whether it's going to camp in the summer, working on a service project, running Vacation Bible School, participating in the Lads to Leaders program, or simply hanging out together and going to a movie, the Clinton Youth are great examples of the Christian life. We are committed to a strong and growing Youth Ministry, proving that a smaller congregation can provide an excellent environment for the spiritual growth of young people. Check out the Youth Page for more information! Area-Wide Youth Events The Clinton church participates in an area-wide youth ministry with several churches of Christ in the East Tennessee area. Devotionals are hosted by individual congregations throughout the school year. Other events include a Spring Retreat, autumn hayride, lock-ins, picnics and more! Young Adults/Young Marrieds This active young adult group is organized in an informal and casual way. We often meet together before or after services to eat together at a restaurant, enjoy recreational activities, and plan Youth Group and other congregational activities. Ladies Inspiration Day/Retreat This annual meeting/retreat is an opportunity for the ladies of Clinton and area congregations to spend time together in fellowship and learning. Special speakers and classes are featured as well as time for fun and fellowship! Young-At-Heart Dinner A special service to the seniors of our congregation provided by the youth group. The fellowship hall is transformed to fit the theme of the night and a delicious dinner is served along with some entertainment. Past dinners have included a down-home country dinner served by waiters wearing overalls and a 50's diner complete with poodle skirts! Harvest Costume Party The Herman Herren family hosts this annual get-together at their home in Norris. The congregation enjoys good food, a costume contest, games, and a hayride through a haunted forest. Community Clothing Giveaway Clothing for all sizes and seasons is collected and given away to anyone in our community free of charge. Gospel Meetings The Clinton church of Christ holds one or two Gospel Meetings each year. This is a time of revival and renewal for all who attend. A sincere invitation is extended to the community to come and hear the word of God preached. A luncheon is provided following the Sunday morning worship service. Food Pantry The fully-stocked pantry is always available to those in the community who are in need. Canned food, juice, baby formula, toiletries, and Bibles are given away throughout the year. Fellowship Meals Following the evening services of the fifth Sunday of the month, we gather for a period of food and fellowship. Monthly Song Services Our evening services every last Sunday of the month are focused on praising God in song. We use this opportunity to learn new songs as well as sing old favorites. The purity of voices in praise to the Father is a wonderful experience shared by the family at Clinton. FHU Lectureship Several members of the Clinton church travel to Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee in February to attend the annual Lectureship. Game Nights Bring some games and snacks to this fun family event! We have family game nights throughout the year on Friday evenings. Before the clock strikes midnight on New Year's Eve, we have a period of singing and prayer to welcome in the new year that the Lord has blessed us with. Teenage Christian Camp There are six weeks of camp available to kids ages 8 to 18. Many from the Clinton congregation participate in several weeks each year. Week 3 is directed by Mike Smith of Clinton. See the TCC page for more information. Vacation Bible School VBS is a big deal at Clinton! This is a special time for the young children of our congregation, our community, and area congregations. It's also a special time for those who coordinate and operate VBS. The time spent building sets, rehearsing puppet skits, studying lessons, preparing food....it's all worth it when we see the faces of those precious children. Church Van Transportation to any of our services, meetings, Bible studies, or activities is available to anyone who might need it. Please contact the church office by phone or send us an email if you need a ride.
